Crofton, the Kent based consulting engineer, has scooped a national award at the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) Excellence Awards, winning the Building Services Award for companies with up to 250 employees.

The awards recognise remarkable achievements within the engineering industry, and the winners were announced at a special ceremony on Wednesday 21st May, at the Marriott Hotel in Central London, with dignitaries and industry leaders in attendance.
Crofton was primarily recognised for implementing innovative engineering solutions on a diverse range of projects across different construction sectors, its sustainable design expertise, and its Building Information Modelling (BIM) capabilities.

Dr Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, chief executive of ACE said: “The standard of entries was extremely high and dominated by engineering projects that showcased the ingenuity and innovation of UK engineering companies and the amazing inventiveness shown by their teams in delivering solutions to complex and ambitious projects. All our winners are excellent ambassadors for the sector and all demonstrated exceptional team work.”
Steve Hale Crofton’s managing director said: “We are honoured to win this award and it has been achieved by exceptional commitment and hard work from our staff. We invest significantly in apprenticeships, and training and development, which ensures our staff are able and motivated to deliver projects to award winning standards. We continue to grow rapidly as the economy recovers and are working on a raft of exciting projects that should help spur our innovation and growth further.”

Crofton works on projects in Kent and across the country. Its project experience in Kent includes the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and the University of Kent in Canterbury. In London Crofton has worked on the Portman Estate’s residential portfolio in Mayfair, and at renowned university Imperial College. Further afield, the company is currently working on a residential project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The awards were organised by the Association for Consultancy and Engineering to celebrate exceptional performance across ten categories. Entries could have been executed anywhere in the world but must have been led or predominantly undertaken by UK based staff. The awards recognised individual achievements, the overall contribution to the engineering sector and also exemplars in collaborative working.

Crofton provides structural, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering design for the construction industry. The company has offices in Tonbridge, Kent; Newhaven, East Sussex and in London.
