Another win for The Leas Lift at ICE's Engineering Excellence Awards 2011

The Leas Lift triumphed again as Crofton collected another two awards at the ICE Engineering Excellence Awards 2011 on Friday 24 June at Leeds Castle.

The project was awarded Restoration Award Winner 2011 and Community Award Highly Commended 2011 by the Institution of Civil Engineers (Kent and East Sussex Branch).

The awards ceremony showcased the best civil engineering projects in the South East and judges rewarded projects that reflected ICE’s Global Vision of "Civil engineers at the heart of society, delivering sustainable development through knowledge, skills and professional expertise."

Mark Taylor, Director, collected the award on behalf of Crofton. He comments: "I am delighted that this remarkable piece of Victorian engineering has been given the recognition it deserves. It was an honour to have had the opportunity to act as Lead Consultant on the restoration of The Leas Lift, and we are thrilled to have been so successful at the ICE Awards."
