Constructing Excellence Awards in London and the South East 2012

Morden Hall Park was a finalist in the 'Building Performance' category for the Constructing Excellence Awards in London and the South East 2012. The awards ceremony took place at a packed Westminster Conference Centre in Central London on Thursday 27 September 2012.

It is yet more success for the 2-times award-winning project, which has already won a RICS London Award and Silver Green Apple Award this year.

The park is owned by by the National Trust and is now one of the most sustainable destinations in the UK.

Structural Director Mark Taylor comments: “We're delighted by the on-going recognition of this important project. Everything about this project is highly sustainable.

For example, when working on the visitor centre, we drew up a specification for recycled aggregate, including waste glass from the existing onsite cafeteria, which enabled 100% of the aggregate used in in-situ concrete onsite to be recycled from demolition waste generated by the work.”
