Engineering Development Trust

Crofton has been involved in the Engineering Development Trust’s ‘Engineering Education’ scheme since 2010. Aimed at 16-17 year olds, the students work with our engineers on real projects and engineering problems to give them a taste of life in the industry and  allow them to put their knowledge to practical use.

The scheme includes a site visit to the relevant office; a workshop to learn how to use the relevant software programmes and begin working on the project; and a final assessment day to present  all the different projects.

Schools who have participated include:

  • 2012/2013 – Darrick Wood School (Kent)
  • 2011/2012 – Mill Hill School (London)
  • 2010/2011 – Sutton Valence School (Kent) and Fortismere School (London)
