Catheter Laboratory

As part of the conversion of existing teaching areas into a new Catheter Laboratory, and the construction of new teaching room, Crofton was commissioned to carry out a survey of M&E services in the existing area. 
Crofton then provided the design of M&E services for the new teaching area and modifications to existing services in affected rooms. Throughout the construction phase, engineers were in attendance to monitor the strip-out and installation works and resolve site queries. The plant was designed to be situated in the same plant room as the newly constructed Orthopaedics Theatre (see below), which saved considerable space and cost.

Crofton worked collaboratively with the architect, structural engineer and framework-appointed contractor to meet very demanding programme time frames.

Orthopaedics and Obstetrics Theatres

Crofton was commissioned to provide building services design for the conversion of existing medical records area into a new orthopaedic theatre, and the refurbishment of the existing theatre area into new obstetrics theatre.
Furthermore, the brief included building services design for the construction of a new extension to house Medical Records, and the construction of new roof level plant rooms, to be shared with the Cather Laboratory.

The Orthopaedics theatre is an ultra-clean theatre, utilizing a laminar flow ventilation hood to ensure ultra-clean conditions and reducing the risk surgical infections. Crofton produced construction information and provided construction stage services such as site monitoring and resolving contractor queries.

MRI Suite

Our structural engineers provided consulting engineering design for the extension and refurbishment of the existing MRI suite, working to a very tight schedule to ensure the works were undertaken with minimal disruption to staff and patients.
