Planning Support

In recent years, the planning system has become more technical. There is pressure to develop brownfield sites and issues surrounding capacity of foul and surface water drainage, and flood risk on challenging sites have come to the fore.

Crofton has responded by providing enhanced levels of pre-planning technical advice to our clients; ensuring that favourable planning decisions are achieved.

Our services in this area include:

  • Feasibility studies - We regularly provide feasibility stage services for prospective developments. Most commonly this involves drainage impact studies and high level advice on potential contamination. It can also involve issues surrounding highway matters and occasionally the impact of a development on existing earthworks and civil engineering structures such as tunnels, bridges and retaining walls.

  • Structural calculations

  • Viability studies
